Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base station in central location.

  1. Connect Base Station: Use Ethernet cable to connect W60B LAN port to router/switch. For PoE, ensure switch supports 802.3af.
  2. Power On: Connect power adapter to DC IN port and outlet, or rely on PoE.
  3. Charge Handset: Place W56H handset on charging cradle; charge fully before first use.
  4. Handset Registration: Follow on-screen prompts to register handset to base (default PIN 0000).

WARNING! Use only Yealink-provided power adapter. Ensure proper ventilation for base station.

First-Time Setup

Power on system; follow initialization.

  1. Network Configuration: Base obtains IP via DHCP. Check web interface (default IP via handset menu).
  2. Handset Registration: On handset, go to Menu > Registration > Enter base PIN (0000).
  3. SIP Account Configuration: Via web interface (admin/admin), add SIP accounts from your service provider.

Web Interface (Base): Network (IP, VLAN, QoS), SIP Accounts, DECT Settings (Registration, Security), Features (Call Forward, DND, Intercom), System (Upgrade, Backup, Reboot).

Common Settings: Ringer volume/pattern, Display contrast/language, Time format, PIN change (default 0000).

Connecting Devices

Network: Ethernet to router. Bluetooth: Pair mobile phone via handset menu. Headsets: 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth.

  1. Ensure base and handset are powered.
  2. For network, use CAT5e or higher cable.
  3. For Bluetooth, enable on handset and mobile; search and pair.
  4. For wired headset, plug into handset jack.

Tip: Place base station elevated and away from metal objects for optimal DECT range.

Advanced Telephony Features

Supports enterprise telephony functions.

  1. Intercom: Dial internal number (e.g., 61 for handset 1) for free internal calls.
  2. Conference: During a call, press CONF, dial second party, press CONF again to merge.
  3. Call Transfer: Press TRANSFER during call, dial target, press TRANSFER to complete.
  4. Call Forward: Set via web interface or handset menu (Always, Busy, No Answer).
  5. Do Not Disturb (DND): Enable via handset or web; calls go to voicemail.
  6. Bluetooth Call Handling: Answer mobile calls directly on W56H handset.
  7. Phonebook: Store up to 500 contacts locally on base; sync via web.
  8. Message Waiting Indicator: Visual alert on handset for voicemail.
