Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place base station on stable surface, preferably centrally located.

  1. Connect Base Station to Network: Use Ethernet cable to connect LAN port on W70B to your router or switch. For PoE, ensure switch provides 802.3af power.
  2. Connect Power: If not using PoE, connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN port on base and plug into AC outlet.
  3. Charge Handsets: Place each W56H handset in its charging cradle. Initial charge for 8 hours recommended.
  4. Register Handsets to Base: Power on base and handset; they should auto-register. If not, use registration process via base web interface.

WARNING! Use only Yealink-provided power adapter. Ensure proper ventilation for base station.

First-Time Setup

Power on base and handset; follow prompts on handset display.

  1. Network Configuration: Base will attempt DHCP by default. Check IP address via handset menu (Menu > Status > Network).
  2. Register to SIP Server: Access base web interface (via IP) to configure SIP accounts, server address, authentication.
  3. Set Language/Time: On handset, press Menu > Settings > Preferences to set language, date, time, time zone.
  4. Configure Audio Settings: Adjust handset volume, ringtone, and vibration via Menu > Settings > Sound.
  5. Test Call: Make a test call to verify registration and audio quality.

Advanced Call Features

  1. Make/Answer Call: Press Green phone or numeric key to dial; answer incoming by pressing Green phone.
  2. Hold: Press Hold key during call; resume by pressing Resume.
  3. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again to complete.
  4. Conference: During first call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again to merge.
  5. Forward: Menu > Features > Call Forward > set Always/Busy/No Answer with target number.
  6. Do Not Disturb: Menu > Features > DND to activate/deactivate.
  7. Directory: Store up to 500 contacts; access via Directory key.
  8. Call History: View missed, received, dialed calls via Call History key.
