Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Connect network: Use Ethernet cable to connect LAN port to network switch/router.
  2. Connect handset: Plug handset cord into handset port on phone base.
  3. Power the phone: Use PoE from network switch or connect external power adapter.
  4. Connect optional devices: Plug headset into headset port or use Bluetooth.

WARNING! Use only Yealink-approved power adapter. Ensure proper ventilation around device.

First-Time Setup

Power on phone; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Network configuration: Phone will attempt DHCP; check IP address on screen.
  2. Account configuration: Enter SIP server, username, password provided by IT admin.
  3. Language selection: Press Menu > Settings > Basic > Language > ENGLISH.
  4. Time and date: Set automatically via NTP or manually in time settings.
  5. Test call: Make test call to verify audio quality and connectivity.

CAUTION! Configure security settings (TLS/SRTP) as recommended by administrator.

Audio: Handset volume, speaker volume, headset volume, codec priority. Advanced: BLF (Busy Lamp Field), call forwarding, DND (Do Not Disturb), call recording.

Connecting Devices

Network: LAN port to network, PC port to computer. Headset: Wired headset to headset jack or Bluetooth pairing. Expansion: EXP40 module via USB port.

  1. Turn off phone before connecting wired devices.
  2. For Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth in menu, search and pair with headset.
  3. For expansion module: Connect EXP40 to USB port, phone will auto-detect.

Tip: Use Cat5e or better Ethernet cables for Gigabit performance.

Advanced Call Features

Supports call hold, transfer, conference, forwarding, recording.

  1. Make call: Dial number on keypad or select from contacts/history.
  2. Answer call: Press ANSWER softkey or lift handset.
  3. Hold call: Press HOLD button during active call.
  4. Transfer call: Press TRANSFER, dial target number, press TRANSFER again.
  5. Conference: During active call, press CONFERENCE, dial second party, press CONFERENCE again.
  6. Call forwarding: Menu > Features > Call Forward > set Always/Busy/No Answer.
  7. Call recording: Press RECORD during call (if enabled by administrator).
  8. BLF monitoring: Program line keys to monitor colleague status.

WARNING! Conference and recording features may require service provider support.
