Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Use Ethernet cable to connect LAN port to switch/router. Use PC port to connect a computer.
  2. Power the Phone: Use included power adapter or PoE from switch.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug handset cord into phone base and handset.
  4. Optional: Connect headset to 3.5mm jack or pair Bluetooth device.

WARNING! Use only Yealink-approved power adapter. Ensure proper ventilation around the phone.

First-Time Setup

Power on phone; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Network Boot: Phone will attempt to obtain IP via DHCP automatically.
  2. Check Network Status: Press OK, go to Status > Network to verify IP address.
  3. Configure SIP Account: Press OK, go to Account > Account X to enter server, username, password provided by your IT admin or service provider.
  4. Test Call: Make a test call to verify audio and registration.

CAUTION! Handle handset cord gently to avoid damage to connectors.

Controls and Settings

Access menu via OK button or dedicated keys. Front Keys: MUTE, HEADSET, SPEAKERPHONE, NAVIGATION, VOLUME, HOLD, TRANSFER, CONFERENCE, REDIAL, MESSAGE, CONTACTS.

LCD Soft Keys: Context-sensitive functions appear on screen (e.g., DND, Call Park, Record).

Basic Settings: Press OK > Settings for Time, Language, Ring Tones, Screen Saver. Account Settings: Configure SIP parameters, Call Features (Call Waiting, Forwarding). Network Settings: Static/DHCP IP, VLAN, QoS. System Settings: Admin password (default: admin), Upgrade, Restore, Reboot.

Connecting Devices

Network: LAN port to network, PC port to computer. Peripherals: Headset to 3.5mm jack, USB flash drive for recording, optional Wi-Fi adapter, Bluetooth headset.

  1. Power off phone before connecting peripherals (except hot-pluggable USB).
  2. For Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Discover and pair device.
  3. For Expansion Module: Connect EXP40 to phone's EXP port before powering on.

Tip: Use Cat5e or better Ethernet cables for Gigabit performance.

Advanced Call Features

Supports standard and advanced PBX features.

  1. Make Call: Lift handset or press SPEAKERPHONE, dial number.
  2. Answer Call: Lift handset, press SPEAKERPHONE, or press corresponding line key.
  3. Hold: Press HOLD button during active call.
  4. Transfer: Press TRANSFER, dial target number, press TRANSFER again to complete.
  5. Conference: During a call, press CONFERENCE, dial second party, press CONFERENCE again to merge.
  6. Call Recording: Press Record soft key during call (requires USB flash drive).
  7. Call Park: Press Park soft key to park call; retrieve from another phone by dialing park code.
  8. Directory: Press CONTACTS to access local and LDAP directories.

WARNING! Do not disconnect USB drive during recording to avoid file corruption.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: LED indicators for missed calls/messages. Audio Adjustments: Independent volume controls for handset, speaker, ringer, headset. High-Contrast UI: Adjustable screen brightness and contrast in Settings > Display.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug power before cleaning. Use slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
